Data and Intent

We talk a lot about being data-driven, less often about being question-driven. Yet a dashboard without intent is a distorting mirror: it reflects what we chose to measure, not what we are trying to understand.

Intent comes before the instrument. Before picking a model, a pipeline, or a metric, you need to name the decision you want to inform. Otherwise you optimize noise.

In the projects I care about, data serves a clear product trajectory. It does not replace judgment. It disciplines it.
